Your First Visit to Our Lake Como Practice

We offer state-of-the-art equipment.

When you first enter the office you will be greeted by Jane,Tammy and Jamie, our chiropractic assistants. You will be asked to fill out some forms detailing your personal information, symptoms and insurance if applicable. Once you have completed the forms you will be introduced to the doctor and brought back to an exam room.

The first visit is what we refer to as the fact gathering visit. We need to learn about your body. We take a detailed history, a comprehensive examination and x-rays if necessary. A computerized scan of the spine is performed to identify abnormal motion in the spine. Also, on many occasions a digital foot scan will be performed to determine whether or not the feet could be contributing to the problem. (Remember the feet are the foundation of the body).

After we have gathered enough information to determine the source of your condition, we will go ahead with the first treatment.

Usually, the first treatment will include therapy before the actual chiropractic treatment. This prepares the body for the adjustment if the patient is experiencing extreme pain or muscle tightness. The first visit will take approximately one to one and a half hours.

Please note that if the doctor feels your condition would not respond best to chiropractic care you will be referred to the appropriate physician.

Dr. Gulotta Asks some important questions of interest to Lake Como residents - Chiropractor Lake Como Dr. Gulotta Asks...

Where do most Lake Como residents get their first subluxation?
Being born in a hospital is a common source of subluxation. Trauma from forceps delivery has been replaced with drugs, vacuum extraction, Cesarean section and births that are "scheduled" to fit the workweek routines of Ob-Gyns. That's why we recommend a chiropractic checkup for every Lake Como newborn.
What's a side effect?
It may sound like a bonus; something extra, but chiropractors know it should more accurately called an "unintended effect," and "unwanted effect" or in some cases an "adverse effect." A pill can't come close to matching your body's ability to create and deliver the essential compounds it needs. That's when it's important to make sure your nervous system is working correctly—the purpose of chiropractic care!
